83'lük Oscar!

Hangi tasarımcılar kırmızı halıda salınacak, en şık/en rüküş kim olacak, en pahalı mücevheri kim taşıyacak, kim kiminle gelecek, yeni aşklar mı su yüzüne çıkacak, hangi after-party’e gidelecek , Javier mi Jeff mi James mi yoksa adı J ile başlamayan tek aday Colin mi, Black Swan muhteşem miydi yoksa çok mu abartıldı, mutlaka The Social Network (?!?) mü? Ve promolarını izlerken çok eğlendiğim Anne Hathaway & James Franco nasıl bir show hazırladılar? Hepsi hepsi hepsi Pazartesi sabahının ilk saatlerinde Cnbc-e’deki yayında…. Ve tabii ki ben de –her sene olduğu gibi– canlı canlı izlemek için ekran başında olacağım..

Tabii; Magnolia Bakery’nin Oscar gecesine özel hazırladığı “kırmızı halı” cupcakeleri eşliğinde izlemek de ayrı şahane olurdu!! Belki seneye ;)

With the Oscar red carpet serving as the world’s top fashion runway, which fabulous designers will be exposed on the red carpet, who will be the best/worts dressed, who will carry the most expensive jewellery, will new affairs be revealed, which after-party will be prefferred, what delicacies will Wolfgang create for 1.500 people fort he 17th time in a row? Will the Oscar go to Javier, Jeff or James or Colin, who’s the only nominee without a J-starting name. Was Black Swan overrated or is the best movie definitely The Social Network (?!?) And what kind of a show has Anne Hathaway & James Franco prepared? (I loved their promo) All of these questions and much more will be answered as of a very very early Monday morning broadcast; 01:00 a.m. to be exact. I will  be up all night –it has definitely become a tradition- watching the 83rd Oscars live.

It would be wonderful if I had a few red carpet cupcakes by the Magnolia Bakery join me for the show. Who knows, maybe next year ;)

onlarca, yüzlerce, binlerce moda dergim var...atmaya kıyamadığım, ileride – ve hatta şu anda - bu dergilerle ne yapmam gerektiğini çözemediğim ve her ay 10’ar 10’ar artan bir koleksiyon benimki...dönüp dönüp bu dergilere bakmak, sayfalarından ilham almak, tekrar tekrar hayran kalmak, 10 – 15 sene öncesinin dergilerini karıştırmak ve her bakışımda yenilikler keşfetmek en büyük hobilerimden…

Türkiye’de bulamadığım ve online takip ettiğim dergiler için de desktopumda “come on vogue” adını verdiğim milyonlarca resimlik bir arşivim..sevdiğim, aşık olduğum, “vaaay be” dediğim, bakmaya doyamadığım, beni mutlu anılarımla buluşturan, çoook uzaklara götüren, yazmaya – fotoğraf çekmeye – yemek yapmaya – dışarı çıkıp “an”ın tadına varmaya teşvik eden fotoğraflar bunlar..

my obsession with fashion magazines started at a very very early age; which is the explanation to the tens, hundreds, thousands of magazines I have stacked up & I really don’t know what I should do be doing with them by the way. The thing is; People collect antiques, I like collecting fashion magazines J looking at a 15 yr-old Vogue or Bazaar, discovering new details and getting inspired from different perspectives every time, admiring them over and over again is one of my biggest hobbies..

I also have a folder on my desktop named “come on vogue”;  an homage to Madonna of course, in which I collect “everything collectable” from magazines I don’t have access to in Turkiye. These collectables are a sellection of anything and everything I have liked, fallen in love with, can look over & over each day without getting tired, have woved and moved me, made me happy, suprised me, taken me on new destinations very far away, and have encouraged me to write, take photographs, cook and to get out & live in the moment.

With my “love of the day” posts, I would like to invite you into this world of mine: the quotes, photographs, snapshots of daily life, websites, clothes, shoes, accessories I have been inspired by and much more.. I hope you enjoy them as much as I have.
